WE CHOOSE LIFE: YOUTH AGAINST HIV/AIDS
This project is being organised by the Baltic Region Healthy Cities Association under the EU-Russia Cooperation Programme, Institution Building Partnership Programme, working with selected cities within the Russian Healthy Cities Network.
The overall objective of the project is to reduce risky health behaviour amongst the young people in the participating cities of Cherepovets, Dimitrovgrad, Izhevsk and Stavropol by raising their awareness of healthy lifestyles and sexual health, including knowledge about HIV/AIDS. The long-term aim is to decrease the HIV/AIDS prevalence and incidence in the partner cities.
The specific objective is to enhance the capacity of the local leaders and decision-makers to execute proactive decisions concerning sexual health promotion and HIV/AIDS prevention in the partner cities.
WHCA is involved in the provision of communications training, particularly media advocacy and social marketing, to members of multi-stakeholder groups from the participating cities.

In addition to these products, we produced a presentation video that was played at the Stavropol meeting. This sort of communication, making a personal connection but in environmentally efficient way, is one that we will be exploring more in the future.
