Why Media Award
WHCA helped with moderation of sessions on impacts of the process, as weel as with finding the ways to strengthen partnership and intersectoral action and with the coordination of the WHY Media award ceremony.
WHO/Europe, with the assistance of WHCA (World Health Communication Associates), supports the World Health Youth (WHY) Environment and Health Communication Network. Its key objective is to catalyse the involvement of young journalists from European countries in the environment and health process, thus developing capacity, enhancing the quality and quantity of coverage, and building sustainable communications across the WHO European Region. The WHY Media Award
Feature stories from WHY journalists will be entered into a competition focusing on national perspectives on key environment and health challenges and progress to date. Selected entries will be included in a publication on the twenty-year history of the Environment and Health Process in Europe to be launched at the Fifth Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health in 2010. Winning journalists will be invited to Italy in 2010 to receive their awards. [... more]
